SCHOOL SPORTS:
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who attended
yesterday’s highly successful School Sports. With the level of support and
participation that we receive it’s easy to see why we have such great days
that are so enjoyable for our children. The closeness of the competition and
the overall high standards displayed by the children was heartening, and we
congratulate those children that exceeded the standards necessary to qualify
for participation in the Zone Athletics Carnival to be held In Wangaratta.
Each of our children put in fine individual efforts that contributed to the
closeness of the final result and contributed to the high standard of the
team efforts. Special thanks to Mr Holden and Mr Dwyer for their
preparations. Thanks to the senior students for their assistance. Thanks to
the teachers who supervised the groups during the day with parent
assistance. Thanks to those parents who manned the various events. And
thanks to the parents who handled the BBQ lunch that was much appreciated by
all. In total it was a great day and thanks to everyone who made this
possible. Well done!
HEAD LICE WARNING:
We have had a reported case of head lice in the middle
school. It is important that everyone be vigilant with checking there
children’s hair to avoid any further spread of this problem. Anyone
interested in further information on treating and controlling head lice can
pick up a brochure from the school office. The problem will only persist if
there is a family not dealing with the issue, and we really wish to avoid
continual reinfestation. Please be very watchful in the coming weeks.
TENNIS COACHING:
There is some information attached regarding the Milo Evonne
Goolagong getting started program for girls aged 7 – 10. If your daughters
are interested you can collect enrolment forms from the office. Forms need
to be sent back to the organisers by the 8th of October. Please
do not return them to school.
SCHOOL COUNCIL:
A reminder to all school councillors that the next meeting is
to be held on Tuesday evening the 16th of September. The meeting
commences at 7:30pm and any apologies should be rung through to the
secretary by Tuesday.

PARENT CLUB:
The next meeting of
the Porepunkah Primary School Parent Club will be held here at school on the
9th of October. Our next big event is the ‘Trivia Night’ set for
the 18th of October so we need plenty of helpers to assist with
this event and plenty of people attending this good fun night. Tickets are
available from Vicki Losch 57562933. Please start planning your attendance
now.
LIBRARY EXCURSION:
Our postponed Library
visit will now be held next Tuesday the 16th of September for our
Middle School Students. This ties in with our Education Week activities and
was supposed to occur after our Author’s visit last week. Hopefully the
weather will be kind and allow the children to ride their bikes into the
Library as planned.
E.M.A.

The second semester

These must be collected in person by the claimant whose name appears on the

preferably before the end of the term.
